        Since 2001, Thailand's software industry has enjoyed about 20% year-on-year growth. Today, more than 300 active players together employ ​over 40,000 qualified software engineers in a close-knit network that ranges from the island paradise of Phuket in the South to the picturesque silicon mountain that is Chiang Mai in the North. Still, this growth pales compared to the boom that is expected over the next five years. Thailand's concerted move towards e-Government, the acceptance of e-Commerce and society's gradual transformation into an e-Society will yield a geometric increase in the number of software companies and developers, catering for government and industry alike.
